Called to Compassion: More than a Handout

Called to Compassion Vision Wall PosterThere is something powerful that happens when our words and actions actually meet, those moments when what we say connect lockstep with the way we live. It is in these moments of undeniable integrity that we often see our world changed. One of the most impacting ways we see the power of these moments is when our compassion for others meets with the good news of the Gospel.

In Acts chapter 3, Peter and John were on their way to the temple to pray. While in route they came in contact with a lame man begging for money. It was in this moment when we see an intersection between words and actions. Scripture says that Paul looked at the man in the eyes and said, “Silver and God I do not have but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus, take up your mat and walk.” And for all three that day the world changed.

This weekend at Crossroads Church in Cranberry we will be finishing our series entitled Called to Compassion by looking at how acts of compassion actually helps people hear the message of the Christ. Maybe you know someone who is resistant to Jesus. It is often in the moments of integrity when our compassion meets our message that the world begins to change.

Join us Sunday as we continue to be a community that is Called to Compassion.
