I was playing with my daughter the other day and we decided to race. I was running and she was riding a bike so I broke out into a full sprint to get ahead of her expecting her to catch up in no time at all. However, the lead I created discouraged her and she yelled “Redo! Let’s start over!”
There are times in life when we feel overwhelmed by the challenges ahead or the mistakes of the past. Every one of us has said what we wished we hadn’t, made a bad choice, or have done what we are not proud of. We’ve caved into weakness or acted without thinking. In these moments that we wish we could yell “Redo! Let’s start over!” But life does not go backward and what’s done is done.
However, this weekend we will see that we can have a new start in life. On Sunday will look at John 21:15-17 and how Jesus gave Peter a new start after a big mistake. We will see that Jesus’ purpose is to restore us and not to punish us!
Take few moments to read John 21:7-22 and join us this weekend as we look at how to create a comeback with a fresh new start!
